8.00 pm – Midnight. Music Marathon for Nonviolence: A Concert and Call to Action to Inspire and Heal. In response to recent tragedies in Boston, Newtown, and around the world, an international coalition of musicians will present a free four-hour marathon concert. This "night watch" concert will include music for contemplation, inspiration, and healing, performed by international musicians from Boston, New York, the United States, the United Kingdom, Europe, and Asia. Chamber, Choral, Organ, Orchestral, and Jazz music will be represented. The event is being organized and led by Tong Chen, producer and conductor, and co-sponsored by Church of the Heavenly Rest and the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College.
