New Members Welcome
Since we are at the close of the membership year, there are currently no new members to report, but here is a reminder that this is a good time to invite colleagues to join the Guild, since you will soon have the renewal information in your hands for 2008-09. This year we will be able to pay dues online, and you may send colleagues and friends of the organ a
web link to our online registration form.
Renewal
When you receive your dues renewal letter this year, you'll find that you can join or renew and pay your dues online. There is an extra charge for this, as the chapter must pay a percentage of every PayPal transaction, plus the fees for the credit cards being used. Contributions may also be included for a wide variety of selected amounts.
Chapter Member and 2006 NYCAGO POE Participant Wins Prize
Irene Martinez (one of our student members, a POE participant in NYC 2006 & Northampton, MA 2007, and a piano student of Lakambini L. Ramos of Yonkers) has received first prize of $500 in the Associated Music Teachers League Scholarship Awards Auditions held in Manhattan on April 12. She plays the Saturday Mass at St. Eugene's Church in Yonkers. Congratulations, Irene!
New Registrar
Paul Sanner has agreed to take over as the new Registrar for 2008-2010. It has been an honor to serve as Registrar for the last 3 years, but duty calls me elsewhere, as I've been asked to serve as President of the Associated Music Teachers League and had to delay starting that post until the Registrar term was up. Thanks to everyone who has been helpful to me in keeping track of our membership! Starting in June, please direct your membership issues to Paul.
Paul Sanner has been Minister of Music at Second Presbyterian Church since 1998. Prior to his tenure at Second Presbyterian, Paul served churches in the New York City and Boston areas as organist and /or choir director, and has been an active accompanist and choral singer. Paul holds a Master's degree in organ performance from Hunter College of the City University of New York, where he studied with Stephen Hamilton, and a Bachelor's degree in piano performance from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music where he studied piano with Frances Walker and organ with Garth Peacock.
