Our twin April events were both great successes! Oliver Latry gave an inspiring master class and performed an outstanding recital at the Church of St. Ignatius Loyola. Many thanks are due to Kent Tritle and the Music Staff at St. Ignatius, Paul Murray and the Chapter Program Committee, and Renee Louprette and the Performer of the Year Sub-Committee for putting these two exciting programs together. Thanks are also due to the students who played in the master class for their hard work and preparation. M. Latry was presented with the New York City chapter 2009 Performer of the Year award at a reception following the recital.
Our chapter level RCYO (Regional Competition for Young Organists) took place on March 21st at Madison Ave. Presbyterian Church. The first place winner was John Walthausen.
