St Cecilia's Church was organized in 1872, and the first church was built in 1873.

In 1894, Geo. Jardine & Son of New York City were contracted to move and rebuild the Hilborne L. Roosevelt Organ, Op. 111 (1882) originally in the Church of the Covenant in Manhattan. The Jardine organ was electrified in 1966 by P. Croteau. Specifications of this organ have not yet been located.
