The Evangelical Church of God purchased its present edifice in the 1960s from Morrisania Presbyterian Church. The building was constructed c.1869 for the Presbyterian congregation that was established in 1849.

This specification was recorded on March 18, 1931 by Louis F. Mohr & Co., an organ service firm in the area. Mohr noted that the organ had tracker action but the Pedal was tubular, and the Kinetic ½ H.P. blower was installed in 1916. The status of this organ as of 2007 is unknown.
