Arverne Church of God

1318 Central Avenue
Far Rockaway (Queens), N.Y. 11691

The steepled building which is now the Arverne Church of God was originally built in 1886 as the Presbyterian Church of Far Rockaway. A new Presbyterian church was built in 1908, the gift of Mrs. Russell Sage in memory of her husband, and the building became the First German Reformed Church. At some point, the building was acquired by the Arverne Church of God.

When the Arverne Church of God needed space for their baptismal pool, the Jardine organ was offered for sale through the Organ Clearing House. In July 1985, the organ was removed by David E.
