Mechanical key and stop action

The three-manual, mechanical-action organ in LeFrak Concert Hall was built in 1991 by the Bedient Pipe Organ Company of Lincoln, Neb. Installed on a platform across the back of the stage, the organ case provides great visual interest for the modern room.
In 2006, the organ was mechanically and tonally overhauled by Flentrop Orgelbouw of Zaandam, The Netherlands. Flentrop also changed the original Volatti temperament to one having 1/8 comma (eight slightly narrow fifths; one Pythagorean third on D-flat). Flentrop returned in 2008 to revoice the Brustwerk Gedackt 8', and to provide provisional lenthening of the Hauptwerk Trompete 8'. |
