POE is for aspiring keyboard players ages 13-18. No previous pipe organ experience is necessary, though intermediate piano proficiency is required. The local POE committee may choose to grant special consideration on an individual basis for admission of a potential registrant whose age or training differs from the guidelines. |
The application/registration fee is $375 and must accompany your completed application form. This fee covers tuition, materials, local transport, room and board, special events, and a one-year student membership in your local AGO Chapter.
Scholarship assistance is available through National Headquarters of the American Guild of Organists. Please contact the POE Director for information.
Students may also contact local AGO chapters or religious institutions if financial aid is needed. |
Students will be housed at the famed Saint Thomas Choir School, 202 West 58th Street, New York City. Double, triple, and quadruple rooms will be assigned based on gender, age, and order in which the application is received. There will be full-time supervision by POE staff, including chaperones each day and nighttime attendants at a ratio of six students to one. Contact numbers will be provided with registration confirmation. |
